In Kathmandu we will also visit the Asura and Yanglasho caves and various Monasteries in which it is believed that Guru Padmasambhava meditated and got enlightenment. We also spend few days in Lumbini, the birth place of Lord Buddha where we can Maya Devi Temple, Ashoka Pillar and many other historical sites having some stories related with Buddha. Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival to Kathmandu (1,330m) (D): upon your arrival, a representative from Adventure Treks Nepal will be waiting outside the airport gates to take you to the hotel. Depending on time of arrival, plans will be made for a briefing meeting once you have settled in. Please let us know if there is anything special you would like to do while in Kathmandu and we can help you arrange that.

Day 02: Cultural Tour around Boudhanath, Swayambhunath and Pharping (1,330m) - (B,D): After breakfast we begin with a drive to Swyambhunath Stupa , located at the top of the hill this is also an UNESCO world heritage site. After spending some time here we head towards another WORLD Heritage site i.e. Bouddhanath Stupa from where we again head towards Pharphing. In Pharphing, we will visit the caves where Guru Padmasambhava got enlightened. After completing the sightseeing for the day we return back to Hotel.

Day03: Cultural Tour around Kapan Monastery and Namobuddha - (B,D): Today we will be visiting two more monasteries located around Kathmandu Valley. Firstly, we head to Kapan Monastery which lies on top of a hill in Northern part of Kathmandu Valley. Kapan Monastery is one of the places to learn Buddhism and visitors are always welcome to join the mediation classes if they wish to. From Kapan we drive 40 k.m. southwest t6owards Kavre district where we will visit another famous monastery at Namo Buddha. It is believed that Buddha offered his body to a hugry Tigress and her Cub at this place during one of his previous life. Spending some time arounf the Monastery we return back to Kathmandu.

Day 04: Fly from Kathmandu to Bhairahawa and Drive to Lumbini - (B,D): We will fly from Kathmandu to Bhairahawa airport from where we drive for around 30 minutes to get to Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Once we have checked in and freshened up we will begin the exploration of Lumbini. Firstly we head to Maya Devi Temple, a temple at a side of a pond dedicated to the mother of Buddha. Following we will witness one of the oldest inscription found in Nepal, Ashoka PIllar which was built by the Indian Emperor Ashoka around 3rd century BC. Last for the day is International Peace Park. All the buildings and monuments inside this Park is religiously significant. Above all, you will soak in the peaceful atmosphere of this place and hopefully find some Nirvana.

Day 05: Visit Tilaurakot, Kudan and back to Lumbini - (B,D): You will have a hearty breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast we head in the direction of Tilaurakot. Tilaurakot lies 29km west of Lumbini and is said to be the place where Buddha spent 29 years of his life away from the outside world. Although, the place is totally ruined you can still find many things related to Lord Buddha. From Tilaurakotr we drive to Kudan which is just 4 km away. This place witnessed the first meeting of Lord Buddha with his family members after he got enlightened. Kudan has many other incidents related top it sp don’t miss the words of your guides. This is also the place where the chief disciple Sariputra ordained Buddha’s son Rahula. After completing the tour we head to the hotel in Lumbini.

Day 06: Fly Back to Kathmandu - (B,D): After breakfast we drive to Bhairahawa Airport and fly to Kathmandu. After your arrival in Kathmandu we will transfer you to the hotel and the rest of the day is leisure. You can walk down the streets of Thamel for any last minute shopping.

Day 07: Departure - (B): A representative from Adventure Treks Nepal will drop you to the airport according to your flight time. Return back home with memories that last lifetime. (Checkout Time at 12:00 Noon)

If you are thinking about how to obtain Nepal visa, then the easiest way to obtain it is at the Tribhuwan International Airport upon your arrival in Nepal or else at the immigration entry point if you are entering through the border of India or Tibet.

Note: There are few countries namely Nigeria, Ghana, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, Somalia, Cameroon, Swaziland, Iraq, Ethiopia, Liberia, Palestine, etc. People from these countries do not get visa from the immigration entry points of Nepal.)

What do you need to obtain Nepal visa?

If you are thinking of taking visa at the airport or immigration entry point, following are your requirements:

* A valid passport (The passport should have validity of at least six months)
* You should fill the application form for visa available at airport or immigration entry points.
* Two passport size photos
* Visa fees which should be paid in cash.

Entry points to Nepal

* Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu.
* Eastern Nepal - Kakarvitta, Jhapa.
* Central Nepal - Birjung, Parsa.
* Northern Border - Kodari, Sindhupalchowk. (Now closed after earthquake).
* Northern Border - Kerung, Rasuwa.
* Western - Rupandehi (Belhiya, Bhairahawa).
* Mid-western - Banke (Jamuna, Nepalgunj).
* Far western - Kailali (Mohana, Dhangadhi) / Kanchanpur (Gaddachauki, Mahendranagar).

Visa Fees

* USD 30 or equivalent convertible currency for 15 days.
* USD 50 or equivalent convertible currency for 30 days.
* USD 125 or equivalent convertible currency for 90 days.
* For the tourist of SAARC nationals, free visa up to 30 days.
* Visa is not required for Indian nationals. However, if they enter Nepal via air, they will have to show a valid identification certificate (passport/ citizenship certificate). The children under the age of 10 do not need to show identification certificate.

Visa Extension

* Tourist visa extension is done for minimum 15 days with USD 45 and USD 3 per day for additional days.
* In the case of delay less than 150 days additional USD 5 per day as late fine.

Transit Visa

When a foreigner has to get down at Nepalese airport as a result of his/her transit point or due to any force landing for whatever the reason, the foreigner can obtain transit visa for a day after paying USD 5 or any other currency equivalent.

Other General Information

* Entering in to Nepal or staying in Nepal without a valid visa is illegal.
* Tourist visa can be obtained either through the Nepalese embassy or consulate or other mission offices in your nation or at the immigration entry points in Nepal listed above.
* Visa once issued cannot be amended and the visa fees are non-refundable.
* You should pay the Nepal visa fees in cash. Credit card or cheque are not acceptable.
* Visa charges are not applicable for children under 10 years of age, however, they must obtain a valid visa.
* If you are obtaining a new passport or travel document, you are advised to contact the Immigration Department for the document transfer.
* Always carry your passport and trekking permit while on trekking.
* Some of the areas are restricted for filming. Therefore, be careful not to do the activities that are strictly prohibited.
* The culture, tradition and sentiments of Nepalese people should be respected.
* Do not perform any activities that would hurt their sentiments.
